according to the number of medals and awards from competitions, she is one of our most successful ballerinas. Currently, she works as a ballet master at the Vienna State Opera, a guest ballet teacher in schools and companies, and is an instructor of GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, GYROTONIC® LEVEL 1 Pre-trainer exercises.


She ranks among Czech most famous ballet artists in the world. She danced on the world's biggest stages - e.g. the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and also in St. Petersburg. Due to her international engagements, she did not appear much on domestic stages. She danced with Finnish National Ballet, the Bavarian State Ballet, Hamburg or Boston Ballet. Guested with the ballet company of Milan's La Scala. She danced through Japan, and America. She was invited to dance at the World Ballet Festival in Tokyo. 


Barbora Kohoutková was born in Prague. From early childhood, she trained in ballet and gymnastics. At the age of four, she was accepted into the National Theater's preparatory school, where her ballet career began. She performed in children's ballet roles, in opera performances, but also in TV fairy tales and series. 

At ten years old - Prague Dance Conservatory. During her studies, she received many awards at international ballet competitions, e.g. Grand Prix at the international competition in Paris, Gold Medal, and Grand Prix at the international ballet competition in New York and Helsinki, and others.

 At the age of seventeen, she got her first engagement as the first ballet soloist in the Finnish National Ballet, where she worked for six years. Year 2000 - awarded the Fazer Price. Year 2002 - Philip Morris Best Artist Award. With her dancing skills, she gave life to many roles in the classical and neoclassical repertoire. She worked with renowned ballet masters and teachers.

Year 2008 - she ended her ballet career and became a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis instructor. She herself appreciated the beneficial effect of the GYROTONIC® and Gyrokinesis methods - on the prevention of injuries, but also post-injury recovery as a result of her numerous injuries. This method currently helps not only dancers but also the general public. 

   Year 2009 - partial return to dance career. After a year of intensive work with the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis methods, she returned to a professional dance career in 2009 September 2010 - a year also as ballet master at the National Theatre - started to perform again as a guest on the international stages of the Vienna Opera, the Helsinki Ballet, the Tokyo Ballet... as prima ballerina and guest teacher, 2014-2016 - a regular guest at the Aalto Theater in Essen and at the same time she opened the Art of Movement studio in Prague. The first studio with Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercises in the Czech Republic. The year 2016 with her first pregnancy, she said goodbye to a professional dancing career. He is devoted only to pedagogical practice. She also studies in the field of dance and sports medicine, has new approaches to developing movement intelligence, organizes seminars, and workshops, and runs her own studio. From 2020 to 2022 ballet master of the National Theater and guest teacher of classical ballet at international schools and ensembles. She is currently a ballet master at Vienna State Opera and runs her Art of Movement Studio in the center of Vienna at "1040Yoga&Pilates".
